Awards Day

Thursday was Drew's last day of first grade. We all went to his class pizza party and then stayed for the awards ceremony. Drew got three awards:
A Honor Roll, Accelerated Reader Achievement, and the Citizenship Award.
We are SO proud of him. He really worked hard to maintain his good grades. He is reading above his grade level because of his participation in the accelerated reader program, and he was the only boy chosen by his teacher to receive the citizenship award because he showed integrity, honesty, kindness, and compassion to his classmates through out the year. When they called his name I seriously wanted to jump up and down and cheer for him like a good old classy red-neck mamma, but I stifled my urges, and just clapped violently. I'm just SO proud of him and all of his hard work, and I know this is just the beginning of many successes to come.
