Fun Fun Hot Sun

I love sneaking a few moments of fun into my busiest days. The kids are so well behaved that I find myself carting them from job to job without even realizing the hours slipping away. It's days like these that I love suprising them with a trip to the park or making a quick detour for icecream on the way to the office. It's moments like this that make all of the hard work worthwhile.

Second Grade Graduation

Drew graduated from second grade this week. He was recognized for making the A-B Honor Roll, and was also chosen to receive the citizenship award. We are so proud of Drew. He worked so hard to maintain his good grades and to be a positive influence in his school, and we were thrilled that his efforts were recognized.

We ended the year with a fun little breakfast in his classroom. Maddi loved the banana nut muffin and was fascinated with Drew's shiny award.

Ms. Stripling is a wonderful teacher, and I'm so glad that Drew got to experience second grade with her. She was my second grade teacher too, so I made her this cute little magnet to remember both of us by.

I'm so glad school is finally over, and I am thrilled to start a new chapter in our education together as a family. I am really looking forward to sharing my knowledge with Drew and watching him blossom as he learns more about the beautiful world around us, but I plan to thoroughly enjoy our hot, humid summer before we jump into any kind of learning routine.

Mothers Day

I had an AMAZING mother's day. I think it was the best I've had so far. Drew made me some preciousness at school, Sean & Drew each got me cards and flowers, and although we started the day in the ER with D, we ended with an amazing family dinner. We also got to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa. I completely respect and admire Grandma Glouner as a mother. She raised an amazing man, my husband's father, and continues to be an loving matriarch for our family, so celebrating this special holiday with her made it even better.

Ketchup

I have been insanely busy. Maddi has been sick, and the combination leaves me absolutely no time for fun things like blogging and facebooking. It's a sad situation.
So, in the four seconds I have before M wakes up, D comes back inside, and we head to work, I thought I'd post a little something.

Please excuse the bruises & pink eye (it's been quite a week). I just wanted to show off the beautiful dress Jen made and the hairbow I made to match. I LOVE having a little girl (and talented friends)

PS Conjunctivitis is disgusting. There are monstrous, goopy, snot rockets pouring out of Maddi's eyes, and all she wants to do is rub her ickiness all over me. Eye boogers are so not sexy. I desperately need her to keep this junk to herself.

Strawberries

This week we went to Brown Farms and picked the biggest, fattest, juiciest strawberries I've ever tasted. Grandma and Grandpa got to come with us which made it a FABULOUS adventure. Maddi ate every strawberry she could manage to cram into her mouth; Drew played in the mud. Grandma picked more strawberries than all of us combined, and Grandpa cheered us on from the shaded canopy. I feel so blessed to have such kind, loving grandparents, and now I think of them every time I stuff my mouth full of strawberry shortcake and Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream.... MMMmmMMMmm.

Clips

So... I was feeling kind of crafty the other day and decided to try to make some hairclips for Maddi Moo.
What do you think?

Dollywood

One of Sean's new jobs provides us with the opportunity to travel with him. This weekend we got to go to Pigeon Forge, TN.

Drew riding a water ride, and Maddi angry that she's not tall enough to ride with him.

Mayfield Dairy Farm

We went to the Mayfield Dairy farm in Athens, TN. We got to go on a tour through the factory to see how they make their milk, ice cream, buttermilk, etc. It was fascinating, but I think the best part was actually tasting the fresh, creamy ice cream at the end :)
