Little River Canyon

The views from this trail were stunning. The beauty was healing. The sounds calmed my soul. I am in awe that our Earth holds such beauty, and am thankful for a God that gave us these beauties as balm for the challenges we face daily.

Ft Payne Alabama

I haven't felt well lately, so the blogging is a little slower in pace, but I wanted to share a few pictures from a short little road trip we took a few weeks ago.  We've driven through Ft Payne countless times, but this time we decided to make it a destination.  They have breathtaking views, hiking trails, and a dedication to the music of Alabama.  Here are just a few pictures from the quaint little downtown.

In Remembrance

We went on a little road trip this weekend and found this sweet little monument along the track of the April 2011 tornado.  The trees are still mangled, new buildings stand in the footprints of destruction, and this pillar stands in honor of the people who lost their lives on this tragic day.  Gratitude enfolded the terrifying memories of this day, as I humbly read the names of the lost.  This event changed the South; it marred our landscape, broke hearts, and destroyed homes, but it also united us in purpose.  I feel so honored to have stood at this wall, and I also will always choose to remember.

Tate Farms

We went to Tate Farms (one of our FAVORITE places).  We picked pumpkins, went on a hay ride, worked our way through a maze, pet some barn animals, and spent hours swimming in corn cribs.  We had fun spending the day together, and plan on going again later this week.  Many, many more pictures to come!
