hello thirty

Today, I welcome my thirties.  As a child, I thought thirty was old and sad.  Thirty seemed like the time when you officially became a grown up and determined whether or not you'd accomplish your goals or settle for what your life had become.  Today, I know neither is true.   I welcome this new decade with gratitude. I now know thirty as wise, confident, sensual, determined, healthy, strong, courageous, humble, spiritual, and loved.  I'm not where I imagined I'd be at thirty, but I know I am where God wants me to be; I feel loved in a way I never knew was possible.  I feel whole as I am, and I still have ample time to chase after my more lofty dreams.  I feel peaceful and centered and look forward to many more years of enjoying life, discovering more of myself, and learning about the world around me.  So, hello thirty; I think we'll be great friends.
