Thanksgiving

Well I'm obviously a little behind, but I thought I'd take a moment to capture our Thanksgiving day. This year, we started a new tradition. I took all of the kids leftover Halloween candy & we made a gratitude turkey. We filled a jar with the candy, pasted turkey feathers along the edges, and added a gobbley turkey face to the front. Before the kids could have a piece of candy, they had to take a feather & write down something they were greatful for. It was fun to hear all of the things that are special to them, and it was nice to keep a spirit of gratitude in our home. We spent Thanksgiving day with grandma & grandpa. We celebrated Grandma's 80th birthday, ate a delicious meal, prayed together, laughed together, and layed around on the beach together. It was an absolutely perfect day.

Can you believe it?? There we were on a little rickety old bridge, and right beneath us were alligators... huge ones, baby ones, sunbathing ones, prowling ones.  It was truly humbling and pretty amazing to be so vulnerable in front of such powerful creatures.
