The Columbus Foundation brought their sailing museum to Ditto Landing last week. We just happened to be learning about the first settlers in Alabama, so seeing a replica of the type of ship that they would have used was quite an exciting experience. When Drew and I were reading, we kept wondering how they sailed these huge ships up and down the rivers of Alabama while establishing colonies. Well, after our little field trip, we are wondering how they made it across the ocean in those little things!
