Strength in Numbers

"You will find it much easier to exercise faith when your faith is sustained by the faith of others as in the case that many physical tasks cannot be accomplished unless people combine their physical strength, so it is with many righteous desires."
-Drawing on the Powers of Heaven

My brother sent me this sweet quote the other day and it's been bouncing around in my head ever since.
So often I find myself striving to be the perfect mother, wife, and sister, and I want to do it all by myself. I forget that God often uses us to strengthen one another. He lets us learn and grow by combining both our physical and spiritual strengths. I am so blessed to have friends who buoy me with their faith when I am weak, and I hope that I can always be humble enough to allow God to use my strengths and compensate for my weaknesses.

the amazing thing, to me, is that everyone has strengths that are different. HF allows us to enter each other's lives to both need AND to be needed. when you strive to improve in your weak areas, i can see it and be motivated to better myself- your weakness is then used to help you AND me grow. i am honored when my loved ones are vulnerable in front of me because it gives me the chance to rise out of my own problems and respond in ways that enlarge my heart and capacity to care.
Pres. Kimball said the most beautiful thing concerning helping one another that i have ever heard. it echos through my mind every. single. day! "God does notice us, and He watches over us, but it is usually through another person that He meets our needs. therefore, it is vital that we serve each other!" -SWK
