Baseball Brothers

Sean and Kevin are playing on a softball team together. While Candice and Greg were in town, we went to watch them play. Kevin hit a grand slam, and Sean got a good hit and body slammed someone while playing catcher... for some reason the guy thought he could run Sean over instead of sliding into home. He was sorely mistaken. It was fun to watch, the weather was beautiful, and I loved having the whole family together.

Splish Splash

Throughout the day, moments of gratitude sweep over me. It doesn't take much... catching the kids holding hands, seeing an uninhibited smile, hearing one of my babies humming in the next room, a whispered I love you. I stop in these moments, overcome with joy, and secretly thank God.

Wienie Wednesday

We went to the Huntsville Stars season opener last Wednesday (thanks to the free tickets from work). And yes, they called it Wienie Wednesday (only slightly tacky) because they had a special on hot dogs. I know. It just rolls off the tounge, right? After standing in line for an hour for our covated dollar hot dogs, we got to watch a little baseball, which just happens to be my favorite sport, before calling it a night. I had a great time, and look forward to many more outdoor nights full of cracker jacks, misquitos, and family fun. Just in case I haven't mentioned it lately; life is good.

Library

We are having so much fun at storytime each week... lots of dancing, shaking, squeezing, and snack sharing, but most importantly my little angel is learning to form friendships and finding joy in sharing experiences with others.

Maddi loves giving her friends hugs...especially baby Will. (SqUeEz.sorry Will) :)

jump

The weather has been amazing (except for the blanketing pollen), so we've spent a lot of time in the backyard together. Fresh air & baby giggles make me feel like I'm dreaming with my eyes wide open.
(sorry for the blurry cell phone pics... I didn't want to risk breaking the good camera while bouncing around)

Firsts

I love watching my kids discover things for the first time.... even if it is just ketchup. It's amazing to watch their little world grow bigger everyday.

Watching the World Go By

Drew is ALWAYS outside riding his bike. Poor Miss Maddi wants desperately to join him. They play outside together, but when it's bike time, this is where the little lady sits and waits...

Nashville Science Museum

We went to the Science Museum while we were in Nashville. suprise. suprise. I must admit, I'm a bit of a museum snob, so for those of you planning kid/museum trips, here is a list of my favorite kid museums near Huntsville:
1. Creative Discovery Museum Chattanooga, TN
2. McWane Science Center Birmingham, AL
3.Earlyworks History Museum Huntsville, AL
4. Imagine It! Atlanta, GA
5. Adventure Science Center Nashville, TN

Spring has Sprung

The air conditioning is on; we've made an attempt at a yard sale (a whole drama in itself), and the sneezing and watering eyes are upon us. Spring has FINALLY sprung. We're cleaning out closets, moving furniture, and frolicking in the lovely weather.
In an effort to cleanse my mind, let me clarify a few of my horribly misunderstood postings. I DO NOT dwell in the past. I do, however, learn from my experiences, and use my knowledge from previous experiences to guide my actions. I also often write about past experiences because time allows both my heart to heal and my spirit to gain clarity. Often time the events that occur presently are too profound to share, and I hold them sacredly until the balming affects of time draw out purpose and strength. And finally, this blog is an honest and humble account of my personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A record of my life's journey in thought and action. nothing more. And with that, Spring has officially sprung. :)

Nashville

I got the traveling itch again...

Strength in Numbers

"You will find it much easier to exercise faith when your faith is sustained by the faith of others as in the case that many physical tasks cannot be accomplished unless people combine their physical strength, so it is with many righteous desires."
-Drawing on the Powers of Heaven

My brother sent me this sweet quote the other day and it's been bouncing around in my head ever since.
So often I find myself striving to be the perfect mother, wife, and sister, and I want to do it all by myself. I forget that God often uses us to strengthen one another. He lets us learn and grow by combining both our physical and spiritual strengths. I am so blessed to have friends who buoy me with their faith when I am weak, and I hope that I can always be humble enough to allow God to use my strengths and compensate for my weaknesses.
